Chicory 4″ Pot

$6.99

Cichorium intybus

Chicory was introduced to North America from Europe in the 1700s. It’s best known for its association with coffee. Many years ago, coffee had become unavailable or too costly. People had turned to roasted chicory as a substitute. The root of the chicory plant is long and thick, like the tap-root of the dandelion. When dried, roasted and ground, it makes an excellent substitute for coffee. There is no caffeine in chicory and it produces a more ‘roasted’ flavour than coffee does.
For best results, plant in full sun to part shade with well drained soil, will grow to about 30x30cm.

4″/10cm pot
