The ‘Hiryu’ Camellia is a tall, bushy evergreen shrub with dark green, shiny foliage. The large, single flowers are deep rose red to dark pink.
‘Hiryu’ can be used for an informal hedge or screen attached to a fence in this espaliered form. It will grow in either full sun or partial shade and can be pruned to maintain its shape.
The espalier Camellia Sasanqua is fast-growing and relatively hardy, tolerating frosts and dry periods when established.
