Wisterias look great planted over archways and pergolas. Wisterias are hardy fast growing climbers that have long been sought after for their magnificent drooping sprays of perfumed flowers. They are deciduous and frost hardy with twisted woody stems. Most varieties flower in early Spring which is followed by soft light green foliage throughout Spring and Summer, bean like seed pods are produced after flowering. Wisterias require good strong support, they may take a few years to establish, once established they are a vigorous climber. If required, prune after flowering to shape your Wisterias. Wisterias can also be grown as standards. They love full sun positions in well drained soils, water and fertilise well when they are flowering and also in the warmer months. We recommend Fertilising every three months with Devotion™ Time Release Fertiliser.
