Alpinia caerulea
Common names: Native Redback Ginger or Redback Australian Ginger.
It is an excellent tropical plant for your garden, Alpinia Red Black features lush multi-coloured foliage mixed with green, rusty red and gold and bears creamy white flowers. Aboriginal people used foliage for crafting, berries for eating, ginger root for marmalades, jams, etc. Seeds should not be consumed! Plant in a shaded area in the ground or in pots and containers with a moist, well drained soil.
