Just over a month ago we did our first Growers Direct Flash Sale – a Sale that is unlike anything else a store has done before. It was born from two of our values:

1. Being transparent with where we get our plants from, and only sourcing high quality beautiful plants.

2. Selling plants at an affordable price to make gardening accessible to everyone.

We’re so excited for this Growers Direct Flash Sale. With this iteration we’ve selected three popular categories:
– Cottage Style Plants
– Japanese Style Plants and
– Autumn Colour.

When we say we have a close relationship with our growers, we mean it. On the Tuesday that just passed us, we went and visited some of our growers and sat down with them to chat about this sale. They are all such qualified nurserymen that we wanted their opinion on what plants would best suit these different categories. They had amazing ideas!

So let’s get into these categories and chat about what you can expect.

Cottage Style Plants For Any Budget

Cottage Style Plants For Any Budget

We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again – Cottage Style Gardens are our favourite type of gardens. Back in the day they were cheap as chips to create – people would actually share cuttings from their garden with their neighbours and friends.

Of course, things change. But now all those colourful flowering plants that used to be practically free now range from $13 to $30. Cottage Gardens are all about the variety and diversity of plants – so the overall cost starts to rack up very quickly.

But with our sale you can create a Cottage Garden for a fraction of the price you typically would nowadays. We’re offering a selection of almost 40 different Cottage Style Plants that are all under $11.

Here’s the exact breakdown:

3-inch pots
– $4.99

6-inch pots – $6.99

8-inch pots – $10.99

We don’t blame you if you think there must be something wrong with these plants to be selling it for so cheap. But these aren’t scraggly dying plants. They are bushy, big, and thriving.
From this selection alone you could create a whole Cottage Garden from scratch for around a $100. On average it would cost you from $500 to $5,000 to do this.

Autumn Colour For Every Sized Garden

Read all about our stunning Autumn Colour Plants we have on offer below. Here are the plants that are on sale:

Autumn Colour For Every Sized Garden

When you hear Autumn Colour you typically think of massive, towering trees lit up in shades of scarlet, amber and gold. These trees are truly a sight to behold, and we will have some of them in our sale.

But we know not everyone has the garden space for such a tree, or even any garden at all. So we wanted to include plants that anyone could have, even if it’s just in a pot on the balcony.

We’ll be starting with our compact options – the plants that grow as small as around 1 metre and are perfect for pots or small yards. They may be small in stature, but they pack a mighty punch with the show they put on.

Then there will be medium sized varieties – your small to medium trees that you can have has a centrepiece in the standard suburban gardens. Or if you have the space, you can mass plant in a clump or in a row along the back fence.

Lastly, will be those iconic trees that are perfect for big farm properties or larger scale landscapes. These trees create an instant impact in autumn and are quite a spectacle to behold in all their autumn glory.

So whether you have a tiny patch of concrete, a normal sized backyard, or a sprawling country property, you can all enjoy autumn for such affordable prices.

Japanese Style Plants For Timeless Elegance

Read all about the Japanese Style Plants we have on offer below. Starting from just $10, take a look at our Japanese section here:

Japanese Style Plants For Timeless Elegance

The Japanese Style is something that will never go out of fashion, in fact, it’s one of the most sought-after garden styles today.

They have this particular knack of spanning decades to compliment both modern architecture and traditional homes. You can also just pick out a few Japanese plants to add to your garden for a touch of elegance and beauty.

We made sure to cover a HUGE range of plants, because the key to a good garden is layering.

We have the traditional selection of plants like Japanese Pines, classic Japanese Maples and stunning Cherry Blossoms.

Then we also have the other necessary additions like groundcovers, grasses, small trees and bushes.

What we’re really excited about is the two exclusive, high end plants we’ve included for that person who is looking for something truly special.

We have a Cloud Pruned Trident Maple – truly something to behold with its summer foliage, but just wait till we’re deeper in autumn and it erupts into fiery colours of scarlet red and deep orange. A Cloud Pruned Plant is already quite rare, but a Deciduous Cloud Pruned Plant is a step above that. You would struggle greatly to find this anywhere else in Victoria.

Then we have an exquisite Yatsabusa Black Pine that has been beautifully trained over many years and is ready to make an instant feature in any garden. But what’s really great about this type of Pine is that you don’t need to be an expert to maintain and continue training it. While other Pines are more vigorous growers, this one grows at a much slower pace, making it more manageable in the garden.

See You Soon

We’re so excited to see you all and help make your gardening dreams come true.

Don’t forget that we offer Free Delivery on orders over $300 in certain areas of Victoria, or you can even book in a Free Garden Design to get a professionally drawn up plan for your garden.
